Cultural and influence in the workplace

This is a continuation of my previous article on cultural influence in the workplace.

In this article, I will primarily discuss the significance of organizational culture and improvement processes.

My previous article discussed the eight reasons why organizational culture is important. I'd like to explain further below for your convenience.

Here are eight reasons why organizational culture is important.

 1.      Increased employee engagement

A work environment that has organizational culture is driven by reason and clear desires. This propels and motivates representatives to be more locked in in their work obligations and intuitive with others. It moreover leads to tall levels of workforce engagement, which drives efficiency. Having a solid association with an organization and its individuals makes an environment of inspiration that's difficult to disregard.

2.      Decreased turnover.

People who feel valued and respected at a company are less likely to leave it. That's why it's essential for brands to foster a winning organizational culture that supports their core values and mission statement. Happy employees mean less turnover, which saves companies time and money during the hiring process. Companies that achieve a strong culture must take steps to maintain and move forward it.

3.      Elevated productivity

When workers have the resources and tools they need to succeed, it helps in increasing productivity and performance levels by and large. Organizational culture impacts the structure of a work environment in ways that bring people of the same skill set together. Those who share similar backgrounds and skills may work more quickly together when tackling company project

4.      Strong brand identity

A company's organizational culture represents its public image and reputation. People make assumptions about businesses based on their interactions within and outside of the company. On the  off chance that it needs organizational culture or has a weak image, customers may hesitate to do business with anyone who is associated with the brand. Businesses with a strong brand identity tend to attract more business and job candidates with similar values who support their mission.

5.      Transformational power

Not all businesses have the power to transform standard employees into total brand advocates, but those with a strong organizational culture do. Companies that recognize their employees' endeavour’s and celebrate team successes are more likely to notice a change in employees as they experience a sense of achievement.

6.      Top performers

Companies that encourage community in the workplace are more likely to retain their best employees. People who are best at their jobs and know the value of their skills generally leave negative work environments where they feel embarrassed and unappreciated. Organizational culture builds a high-performance culture that underpins people in the company, resulting in an overall positive employee experience.

7.      Effective onboarding

More and more, businesses with an organizational culture are relying on effective onboarding practices to train new hires. Onboarding practices that include orientation, training and performance management programs help new employees access the right resources and better transition into their roles. This promotes employee longevity and loyalty and reduces the amount of frustration some employees experience when they don't have the information needed to do their job well. Onboarding is a great way for companies to ensure new hires understand the core values of their business.

8.      Healthy team environment

Organizational culture helps improve workflows and guides decision-making. It also helps teams overcome the barrier of ambiguity. Team members with knowledge and understanding of certain processes are often more motivated to complete projects. Having a clear culture unites employees and fosters an organized work structure that helps people work together on purpose.

How Improver the organization's culture?

                    1. strive for transparency.

                   2. Recognize and reward valuable contributions.

                   3. Build employee relationships.

                   4. Embrace and encourage employee autonomy.

                   5. Practice flexibility

                   6. Communicate purpose and passion.

                   7. Build your team

                   8. Provide and solicit feedback on a regular basis.

It’s time to build your culture.

Building and improving your company culture doesn't happen overnight. It takes a commitment to understand your current cultural environment and then implement the types of strategies that will be most effective in improving your organizational culture. As mentioned, everyone's recipe for success is different.

But remember that creating a culture of engaged, productive, and happy employees is worth the effort.

Conclusion

Tangible factors, such as business results and "invisible factors" such as corporate culture, do not necessarily exist on separate planes. Even though the two are at opposite ends of the spectrum, you can still come up with processes that can deal with both.

However, always remember that the ultimate goal is to achieve the mission and vision of the organization, but also to keep your employees happy in a "safe" and positive environment.

  3. The literature review presented in this article is a well-researched and informative overview of the current state of knowledge on workplace culture and its influence. The author has synthesized key concepts and ideas from a range of sources and presents them in a concise and easy-to-understand manner.

However, while the literature review provides a good starting point for those seeking to understand the topic, the article would benefit from a more critical analysis of the research presented. While the author has touched on the importance of workplace culture for organizational success, there is a missed opportunity to explore the implications of the research for HR practitioners and managers.

  5. Very good topic. While appreciating to your idea, I would see that Globalization has led to an increase in cultural diversity in the workplace, which can both positively and negatively impact the workplace. Communication, work style, values and beliefs, diversity and inclusion, conflict resolution, and cultural competency training are all important factors in managing cultural influence due to globalization. It is important for organizations to develop cultural competency training programs and create an inclusive workplace culture that values diversity and promotes cross-cultural understanding.

    1. I agree with you that globalization has led to an increase in cultural diversity in the workplace. This can be a positive thing, as it can lead to new ideas and perspectives. However, it can also be a challenge, as it can lead to misunderstandings and conflict.

There are a number of things that organizations can do to manage cultural influence due to globalization. One is to develop cultural competency training programs. These programs can help employees to understand different cultures and how to work effectively with people from different backgrounds.

Another is to create an inclusive workplace culture. This means creating an environment where everyone feels welcome and respected, regardless of their culture or background. Organizations can do this by promoting diversity and inclusion, and by providing training on conflict resolution and cultural sensitivity.

By taking these steps, organizations can help to ensure that globalization has a positive impact on their workplace culture.
